Artist Dominic Plaza
Title Sounds Rushin
Label Fokused
Genre Progressive

The first release on the Swedish Fokused label is mind blowing. Behind the Fokused label is Parham that has done a lot for the Progressive House music in Sweden and he has now entered the world of record labels. “Sound Rushin” is a dark trippy ride, a mixture of deep trance and progressive house and a vocal that beautiful wears in and out of the melody line. On the flip you find a more upbeat David West mix that also will appeal to the trance floor. David West has emphasised the melody line and has given it a more Matthew Dekay and Luke Chable sounding universe. Look for this release and label in the future. (CA)
Artist Yellow Blackbird
Title Superfly
Label SOG Chrome
Genre Progressive

No doubt that this Swiss label has been a favourite of mine for many years. The man behind the label is Tobi (GREED) Wirz and he has also done a killer remix of this new release “Superfly” a vocal driven progressive monster that will find its way to the club floor and will get your feet moving. An Andy Moor remix is also included. SOG rocks. (CA)

Title Colours Remixes
Label Digital Structures
Genre Progressive / Deep Trance

Our Swedish friends Marcus and Sebastian have put together a great collection of mixes of their tracks from their “Colours” album. The EP features Luke Chable´s progressive break beat remix of “Colours” a dreamy trippy journey. Vibrasphere goes full on with “Let Us Be”, Nos takes on “Focus”, Dino Psaras “The Stars Within Us” and Aztech goes chill-out on “Let Us Be”. The last track on the EP is Shiloh´s remix of “Focus” a more proggy ride for the early hours. (CA)
Artist Rocco Mundo & O.N.N.O
Title The DJ took Pills / I Love You
Label Little Mountain Recordings
Genre Progressive

Another great release on Little Mountain Recordings. This time the two Dutch DJ/Producers Rocco Mundo and DJ O.N.N.O have cooked up this wonderful tour de force of a track “The DJ took Pills” with a bobbing melody line that will take you into the night. “I Love You” is as even fantastic, a bit more driving in the beat and a killer riff and playful vocals. Look for Rocco Mundo & O.N.N.O in the future. (CA)
Artist Frome
Title Let It All Out
Label Marine Parade
Genre Break Beat

A dirty break beat driven track from Frome has been released on Adam Freeland's label Marine Parade. “”Let It All Out” will surely get you rocking when the beat and vocal kicks in. (CA)
Artist Psycatron
Title 7th morning / 7th Night
Label Little Mountain Recordings
Genre Progressive

Sander Kleinenberg´s label keeps on releasing some of the best and innovating house tracks around. After an excursion into electro house the label returns with this double a side that will knock your shoes off. Behind Psycatron are Paul Hamill and Phil Johnson and they have with the track “7th morning” combined a groovy beat and a fantastic melody line. “7th Night” is a pumping track with a great female voice that will leave you breathless – essential. Artist Depeche Mode
Title Enjoy The Silence 04
Label Mute
Genre Progressive

One of Depeche Mode´s biggest hits “Enjoy The Silence” from 1990 gets the big remix treatment to mark the release of their “Remixes 81-04” album. Timo Maas’s remix is a slowdown version of the track and on the flip Ewan Pearson’s mix is very close to the original, but with an extra kick. (CA)
Artist Pavel Bidlo
Title My Pills
Label Tao Recordings
Genre Progressive

From Tao Recordings comes this dark and funky night time belter that surly will rock the dance floor. “My Pills” is made by the Czech DJ Pavel Bidlo that also has released a track on Shinichi as Rock Scissors Paper. His unique take on combining break beat and progressive gives the track a bumping sound. On the flip Maurel & Fauvrelle gives it a nice rework. "My Pills" is also included on Anthony Pappa's “Balance 006”. (CA)
Artist AudioGuys
Title All Your Love
Label Automatic
Genre House

Chris Bickley & Jay Pete aka AudioGuys new release sees the light on Automatic. In 2001 they released  “Silken Steel” on the Mashed Mellow Grooves 2 on Transient and are back with a lush soulful house track that clearly is inspired by the late 70’ and 80’ electro house. On the flip a remix by Wintersun can be found. (CA)
Artist Ericke
Title Ya don’t stop
Label Little Mountain Recordings
Genre House

Ericke’s second release on Sander Kleinenberg’s Little Mountain Recordings label once more prove that this Dutch producer/DJ knows what the dance floors want – a groovy beat and a fresh melody line. The flip side includes a fantastic ambient Syncopation remix. (CA).

Artist Jase From Outta Space
Title Do What U Want
Label Shinemusic
Genre Progressive

This is going to be one of the biggest tunes of 2004. It has it all; a fantastic female vocal performed by Claire Sky and a fantastic remix package spread over two 12” that will apple to all dance floors. Max Grahams´s Third Street Remix kicks the track into the 132 BPM range and can e.g. be used on the trance floor, with its rolling sounds, breakdowns and riffs – wow this is one of the best remixes from Max Graham in a long time. Infusion’s remix takes the track deep and dark for the house floor. Martin Villeneuve’s (MV) Summer Daze remix and the Max Graham Afterhours In Montreal Mix gives it the progressive treatment with a twist. This release is massive. (CA)
Artist Sumantri
Title Imagination
Label Vapour Recordings
Genre Progressive

Once more Kasey Taoylor´s Vapour label shows how it’s done. Sumantri “Imagination” is a dark progressive ride with a fantastic drawing female vocal and a lush but deep melody line. The original mix is a very dark trippy ride and the Kasey Taoylor & Chris Meehan remix is just another proof that these two really are a force to be recon with – top notch mix that will rock the progressive dance floor. (CA)
Artist Dirty Vegas
Title Walk Into The Sun
Label Parlophone / EMI
Genre Progressive

The first single to be released from their forthcoming album “One” is the uplifting track “Walk Into The Sun”. The Dirty Vegas Club and Dub mixes have a Planet Funk’eks tone over them and the riffs are terrific blended with Steve Smith’s vocals. The King Unique vocal and dub mixes kick the track into high gear and give the track a more explosive impact on the dance floor. No doubt Dirty Vegas are back with a bang. (CA)

Artist José Amnesia
Title The Eternal
Label Vandit
Genre Trance

Well what can say – IT´S HERE - the track that Paul Van Dyk featured on his Muzik compilation in 2001, the track that so many DJ´s and trance kids have been searching for so long – it’s finally here!. The mind-blowing, euphoric, beautiful and epic trance track is as fresh as when it was released on promo in 1999 on EvaNova and later on FFRR. The Vandit release features the original mix and two great updated remixes from Thomas Datt and NU NRG. The NU NRG boys give the track a notch up on the uplifting side with their fantastic sound and the Thomas Datt remix takes it in a way that Paul Van Dyk would have been satisfied with if he had made the remix himself - but still the original is my favourite. José Amnesia “The Eternal” is from my point of view one of the best trance track ever made and I’m extremely happy to see it’s finally getting a proper release – it will make a blast on the dance floor – trust me. (CA)
Artist Kasey Taylor and Chris Meehan
Title Biotics
Label Vapour Recordings
Genre Progressive

From Australia comes this monster of a progressive cooker. Behind the track is Vapour Recordings boss Kasey Taylor and his new partner in music crime Chris Meehan. The two have worked together for some time now and have released “Between The Lines” , “South Of The Border” , “Parallel Reflections” and done a few remixes. On the vinyl you find two mixes. Mix One is a slow deep progressive journey and Mix two is more tribal and will move any dance floor. (CA)
Artist One Man Army
Title The Anthem
Label Joof
Genre Trance

Sweden’s own Jezper Soederlund is probably best known as the man behind Airbase, but also the producer behind many other projects, such as Scarab, Rah, Ozone, Loken J, Mono and One Man Army. “The Anthem” is a real summer anthem with beautiful melody line and a very long breakdown with strings and all. On the flip you find “Ballroom Dancer” and are yet another example of this 23 old talent. Yet another strong release from Joof. (CA)
Artist Hydroponix
Title Don’t Stop, go!
Label Little Mountain Recordings
Genre House

From Sander Kleinenberg´s label Little Mountain Recordings comes this mashed up electro house track that builds around a riff from Human League – “Being Boiled” and looped sampled vocals. “Don’t Stop, go!” is made by the Liverpool based outfit Hydroponix (Colin Airey and Rob Jay) and the Mirabeau main mix it’s a fantastic cooker and the Mirabeau dub is more of a techy version of the track. (CA)
Artist Sarah McLachlan
Title World On Fire (Junkie XL remix)
Label Arista / BMG
Genre Progressive

The wonderful voice of Sarah McLachlan once more comes alive in club land, this time Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL has done his wonders. Sarah McLachlan’s voice is perhaps best known from the massive Delirium “Silence” track, but she is a very good songwriter herself, logging 7 album releases and a fantastic remix album. “World On Fire” is the second single release from her new album “Afterglow”. (CA)
Artist Duran Duran
Title Sunrise (Ferry Corsten remix)
Label Epic Records / Sony
Genre Trance

Well this might seam a little bit odd that a pop release has found its way into the review 12” sections – but I had to draw your attention to the Ferry Corsten dub mix on this release. For many people Duran Duran is nostalgic, but yet again the group is together in its original line-up with their new great album “Astronaut”. (CA)
Artist Astrolab
Title Nightvision
Label Automatic Records
House House

The 50th release from Automatic Records is a funky house encounter featuring the vocals from Natasha Bryce that also had a big hit with Salsoul Nugget by M&S presents The Girl next door which reached #6 in the UK Top 40 in the year 2000. The original mix is a rocking house track that’s going to make you dance and the Paul Woolford remix is a dirty electro version of the track. (CA)

Artist Quasistereo
Title Sex Fiend
Label Four:Twenty Recordings
Genre House

Timo Maas´s label keeps on bringing wicket deep house tracks. This time it’s DC10 resident Cirillo and friends that has created a real deep cocker with dirty vocals. The original and dub mix is over the 10 minute mark each and they never get boring. So look out for this killer release in October. (CA)
Artist U2
Title Vertigo (Redanka remix)
Label Island (Universal)
Genre Progressive

U2 has always released great remixes of their tracks and has been in the forefront in trying out new producers. The Redanka (Andy Holt) remix didn’t make it in the original release of “Vertigo” but now after it has been hammered on the dance floor as a promo it’s been released on the new single “Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own” – it’s a killer. (CA)
Artist The Killers
Title Somebody Told Me (King Unique remix)
Label Island (Universal)
Genre House

The Killers have been reported to be a mix between The Smiths and Duran Duran, and in the form of a remix of their new single “Somebody Told Me” by King Unique they sound very much like Planet Funk but a bit harder on the guitar. The track is very catchy and has a potential of becoming a hit. (CA)
Artist NUfrequency
Title 808
Label Little Mountain Recordings
Genre Progressive

NUfrequency project is a collaboration between Shield, Alessandro Ripamonti and Cristiano Massera. “808” is a cross over track with a great bass, fine guitar hooks, breakdowns to die for and a lush melody. The vocal is a bit Dirty Vegas inspired – but all in all great. The Original Instrumental version was exclusively featured on Sander Kleinenberg’s Everybody Too compilation. “808” has commercial potential – not bad at all. (CA)
Artist Progresia
Title After Universe
Label Vapour Recordings
Genre Progressive

From Kasey Taylor’s label Vapour comes another great track. This time more melodic than we have seen from the latest releases. The melody is hypnotic and it will fit nicely into the start of a set or when your winding down. No doubt this also will have an appeal to the trance scene. On the flip a Perry O’Neill & Ozgür Can remix can be found – it takes the track a bit darker. (CA)
