Shem McCauley aka Slacker started out collaborating with the likes of Bomb The Bass and remixing artists such as Yazz and James Brown. He teamed up with Simon Rogers as Slacker but shortly after the first release he became a one man army. He set up his own label Jukebox in The Sky and has released a string of his own material on this label. The new release "Goddam Waspy Noize" is a hard hitting break beat stamper with a hard hitting edge and great effects. "Tutikinegi" is a fluent break beat track that will embrace you and take you on a journey with a slow moving rhythm and fantastic effects. (CA) Rating: 7 / 10

Once more the two Dutch DJ/Producers deliver two top notch tunes. “Is This” is a deep bass driven track with some great effect and voices. “Little Compression” is another example of what they can do and you won’t be disappointed. One of this year’s best releases so far. This melodic wonder I first came across on Matthew Dekay´s massive mix CD on Extrema vol.9. The “Swing 2 Harmony” has since then been in huge demand and is now released on several labels around the world – this could be one of the biggest tunes for the summer and it has it all, great rhythm, great melody and a vocal to die for. Parham known from the Fokused label and Ilsoe also known as Jokke and as a member of the Danish outfit True To Nature, delivers here two massive deep tech house track. “Love Sequence” has already been featured on Hernan Cattaneo’s Renaissance vol.2 mix CD and is a long slick voyage, with swirling sounds, effects, great break downs and builds. The flip track “Raw Sequence” is another massive track, it’s more bumpy and has a funky rhythm – well done you Scandinavian lads. (CA) Rating: 9 / 10

The fifth release on Paul Davis´s label Ku De Ta features a great collaboration between Paul Davis and Ranj Kaler. Paul Davis is best known for his colourful collaboration with Matt Jackson in Circulation and has here with Ranj Kaler created the groovy house tune “Music” with dubbed voices, effects and a great male voice. On the flip you find “Moozik” and it’s another fine dubbed house track. (CA).  Rating: 7 / 10

“Sensation” is a fantastic tribal house workout and it’s held at 126 bmp. The beat is mesmerizing and when the female vocal comes in, repeating “Sensation” in tempo, you are taken on a journey. Peter Presta is perhaps best known for his work with the likes of Master At Work and Danny Tenaglia. The flip side features a remix done by Little Carlos. (CA). Rating: 7 / 10

A strong male vocal underlines the track dark driving force and you find yourself bouncing. It’s the Cuban born Barbarito Capote that is behind the guise DJ Dove and last year he released “Love Me Right” on Roger Sanchez´s Stealth Records. On the flip you can find a remix by the up and coming remix outfit Syke ‘n’ Sugarstarr. (CA).  Rating: 7 / 10

Josh Gabriel and Dave Dreseden are perhaps best known for their melodic wonder releases, such as “As The Rush Comes” under the Motorcycle guise. On the Organised Nature label they have produced two melodic tunes that are a mixture of progressive house and trance. “Portobello” is a fast paced bass track with a nice changing melody key. On the flip “Serendipity” another massive track that was featured on their “Bloom” CD can be found, this track has been in huge demand – a massive release from Gabriel and Dresden. 4 massive break beat tracks from Gaetan Schurrer known from Pariah and Barry Jamison known from Evolution. They have both worked on Sasha´s “Involver” album, and some of the feelings from this album have been fused into these 4 tracks. “Phat As” is a hard-hitting beat monster until it drops its tempo in the end. “What The Funk” has a kind of Fluke sound over it, but with a twist. “Rizing” and “Web-O-Matic” are more melodic affairs and Gaetan and Barry really get cracking. This time it’s a collaboration between Jono Fernandez and Vance Musgrove. “Directions In Groove” has a dark driven bassline and a tribal sounds that blends into a perfect rhythm. In the middle of the track is a mind blowing breakdown with classic elements and horns that explodes the track into a new direction when the track pick’s up its rhythm – wow what a track. On the flip a top progressive break remix by Everydaydowners (Maji and DJ Samer). (CA)  Rating: 9 / 10

Once more Chris Micali delivers two essential pounding tracks for the peek time progressive dance floor that also could find its way onto the deep trance floors. “Juice” has a deep pulsating rhythm and a settle riff that sends you out on a journey. The way Chris uses the female vocals on “God Gave US” is similar to his massive remix of Mark Martini “Highway One” (released on TAO). The track has a fantastic driven beat, great breakdowns and builds. I must say he is still one of my favourite producers when it comes to the dark progressive tunes. (CA)  Rating: 10 /10

The new Monkz (Shootie and Supacurtis) release on Nick K and Matthew Dekay’s Low Riders label is so wicked. First up “Goggles” a funked up track in true Matthew Dekay style, with a massive rhythm and a riff to die for – a real cracker. “I Want To See The Sun” is another massive melodic track that once more shows the talents of Monkz. These two tracks are essential. “Nasty” is a slick percussion driven track with a staccato riff and “This Is Our Land” a deeper bass driven affair. (CA) Rating: 10 /10

The first release from Luke Chable´s Trojan Records is the wicked “Cruel Summer” by Mannel. The release includes a “4AM” tribalistic to the floor remix that will set the dance floor on fire, with a driving beat and tweaked vocals. The “Break Your Ass Dub” is a chunky mix of the track that teases you with its builds and removals of layers. It’s not going to be a cruel summer – it’s going to be great. (CA) Rating: 8 /10
