He came, he played, but he didn’t blew the roof of Parken.
DJ Tiësto returned to Denmark on Saturday the 10th of November with
his “Elements of Life” tour and 23.500 had got tickets for this must
experience event in Copenhagen.
The national arena Parken, was transformed into the largest discotheque
in Denmark for a night. JES did the warm up with vocal trance tracks
from her debut album "Disconnect" and she also gave the audience the
monster hit she did with Motorcycle “As The Rush Comes”.
At 20.15 Tiësto entered the stage with a bang and treated the massive
crowd with some of the hottest trace tracks around, mixed with a string
of his own tracks, including; “Ten Seconds Before Sunrise”, “Everything”,
“Do You Feel Me”, “Bright Morningstar”, “In The Dark”, “Carpe Noctum”,
“Elements Of Life”, “Love Comes Again”, “Flight 643”, “Lethal Industry”
, “Dance4Life” , “Traffic “, Adagio For Strings” and his signature remix
of Delerium “Silence”.
Personally I was impressed that so many people were partying – who said
that trance was dead in Denmark? But I prefer smaller venues, more
intimate, closer contact to the DJ etc., these concert things can be too
big and to impersonal – you can get lost and not connected to the
atmosphere.
Clubbing Magazine tried to setup an interview with Tiësto, but that
didn’t happen and we were left with a quick press conference just before
he went on stage. Here is a few of the questions that we managed to ask
him….

On your new album ”Elements of Life” you once more
have worked with BT – tell me a bit about this working relationship?
- The working relationship with BT is very good, he is an extreme
serious guy, and with lots of ideas, I consider him a modern Mozart.
I understand that you did 4 tracks together with
BT, but only 3 is on the album, is the last one going to be featured on
BT´s upcoming album?
- The last of the new tracks with BT hasn’t got the final touch yet so
we have to wait and see.
Do you see yourself as a pop/rock star, playing
these concerts like gigs? – and are you not afraid of loosing your touch
to your fans?
- No I don’t see myself as a pop/ rock star but sees this as a new way
of developing the music, and I’m not afraid of losing my fans.
Last time you played in Denmark (beside Roskilde)
you played for a 1000 and today you playing for 23.500 – what does that
mean to you?
- Off course it is a bit different playing for a bigger audience, I’m
always nervous right before a show.
Do you think that we ever will see you doing club
gigs again here in Denmark?
- Yes - I will absolutely come back and do clubs gigs again here in
Denmark. |
