Heineken Thirst
 
Exposing the freshest local DJ talent and providing a platform on which to perform with the world's best. Thirst is a global dance music tour developed by Heineken Music.

Recognising that dance music and clubbing have become a world wide phenomenon, Heineken Music has released Thirst to deliver dance and club culture to audiences on a global, regional and local scale.

Thirst was launched in September 2002 and toured 28 cities across six continents in its first year. The tour continued in 2003-2004, visiting over 40 cities with a line-up of internationally renowned DJs including Tiësto, Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold and Ferry Corsten.
 
Thirst 2005 will visit over 25 countries, each country hosting a national competition, followed by regional competitions, culminating in a Global Final in January 06.

The heat winner gets a CDJ-200 Digital CD Deck  and the runner-up get Pioneer HDJ-1000 Headphone. The overall winner gets a Pioneer CDJ-1000 MkII, Pioneer EFX-500-R, Edirol – 8 mini – keyboard and Ableton Live Software.

At the Ratpack club in the center of Copenhagen the first semi-final in Heineken Thirst competition was held. The atmosphere was amazing and the Copenhagen crowd made this Thursday night simply great. The competition featured four acts, first up was Racket, followed by Ronin and DJ Flip and finally by Jesper Fryd/Finn Snor/Al Agmmi. The winner of the night was Ronin. As a special treat for the Copenhagen crowd a special appearance by the Scottish DJ MYLO rocked the club until the early morning. Photos

At Cafe Vesteraa in Aalborg the second seminal final was held. Once more a very good atmosphere where four acts were competing, three DJ´s Raoul, Matias, Malraux Ejara (DJ Filow) and the group Screamheads in which last year semi-final winner at Aalborg Caspet LT featured. The only 19 year old Matias won, he has only been DJ’ing since 2003. Photos

For the third instalment of the Heineken thirst simi-finals at the Alibi club in Odense a big crowd had turned out creating a brilliant atmosphere. There were only three DJs fighting for glory; Marius, DJ Juncker and Stefano. Betty Bronx didn’t turn up due to illness. Homeboy DJ Juncker had clearly the home advantage, but Marius won with a super set and goes on to the final. Photos

The Thirst 2005 competition concluded in a fantastic night at “DGI byen” in Copenhagen, where the three semi-finalist Ronin, Matias and Marius were fighting for glory. In the end Ronin was the last man standing as winner of the final. Rune RK and Tim Andresen took over from the competition and made the dance floor very hot. Erick Morillo took over and he played a fantastic 2 hour set mixing his soulful house with new versions of classic tracks. Sander Kleinenberg closed the party with a “bang”. Photos
